Jacqueline LaRue Jimenez | Chief Executive Officer, News Producer, Media Strategist, Reporter, Editor, Keynote Speaker | Newsworthy Stories, LLC

Backed by more than three decades in news writing and production, on-air broadcasting, video editing, and television news coverage, Jacqueline LaRue Jimenez has excelled since 2019 as owner, Chief Executive Officer, news producer, media strategist, reporter, editor, and keynote speaker at Newsworthy Stories LLC. Through her company, she identifies news stories within businesses, nonprofits, and organizations, then helps them gain local, national, or international television news coverage, as well as produces news stories specifically for social media. Believing that “everybody has a news story,” she seeks to make connections between organizations and newsrooms. Many media departments simply don’t have the budgets or staffing to find business-based or human interest stories, she said, they need to be presented with them. This is where she and her company come in, providing a wide range of services including writing, videography, and submitting press releases to the right people. Ms. Jimenez says, “Often my clients are generating news coverage with video they shot on their cell phones, because I’ve taught them what to shoot.”

As an extension of this mission, Ms. Jimenez leads a series of workshops and masterclasses based on her book “How to Get Television News Coverage. It’s Easier Than You Might Think!” It is a guide to help people identify news stories in their businesses, nonprofits, churches, organizations, law enforcement agencies, medical offices, and more. Those stories are then shared across television, radio, digital, and social media platforms. Workshops cover a litany of topics, like “News is NOT public relations,” “Coverage without Camera Crews – Press Releases,” and how to shoot video on your own. She also hosts “Newsworthy Stories with Jacqueline Jimenez,” a live show for social media and streaming networks like Roku and Amazon.

Growing up in a military family, Ms. Jimenez spent her childhood traveling frequently. Her mother, Bertha LaRue Martin, was a news enthusiast who watched it “nonstop.” As her father, Charles Henry Martin, was retiring from the Air Force, she realized she would not be moving around anymore. So, with her love of travel and the news, thanks to her mother, she decided to pursue a career as a reporter, but ended up becoming a producer first. She earned a Bachelor of Science in communications from Florida State University in 1988 and was subsequently active as a writer and television news producer for ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX affiliates. She balanced out these duties with freelancing and producing documentaries, commercials, and corporate videos. While at CBS4, she produced the Emmy-winning public affairs show “4 Sunday Morning” and was a field producer for the nonprofit “Neighbors 4 Neighbors,” which was born out of CBS4 in Miami following Hurricane Andrew. She was the first official news producer to work with the nonprofit on behalf of the newsroom to inspire the community to take action through stories. Once in place, she was able to generate stories that led newscasts, and its popularity led to the main anchor becoming the “Face” of Neighbors.

Ms. Jimenez’s work in her field has helped numerous individuals and organizations receive television news coverage from multiple networks across the country and the world and produced in-depth stories that are shareable across social media. Among the many highlights of her career, she is perhaps most proud of shining a spotlight on such individuals as 11-year-old Carter Bonas, who she began working with when he was 10. Through the media strategies of Newsworthy Stories, he became Sports Illustrated’s SportsKid of the Year, the Masters/UPS Unstoppable CEO of the Year, and spokesperson for former NFL Quarterback Doug Flutie’s STARS of the Spectrum. Ms. Jimenez is also the owner of God’s Girl Greetings & Custom Apparel, a provider of handcrafted cards and gifts that she launched in 2005.

Looking toward the future, Ms. Jimenez strives to conduct more corporate media training workshops and speaking engagements. Her goal is to help more people understand the power of stories and how they impact and influence the world.

“There’s a story in your service, let me help you share it.”
